"The student models servant leadership equipping others in a God-given direction through Christlike character, leadership capacity, and love."

Overall Reflection Statement
My competence in servant leadership is displayed through photographs. I am submitting various examples which demonstrate my spiritual gifts of serving and leadership. Serving others should occur inside and outside of the church. Therefore, I am including a sampling depicting my work with Christians and unbelievers. One example is Movie Club, a creative way that I have engaged believers and nonbelievers in the community. I organized a monthly meeting to view a film, usually a foreign movie, to stimulate lively discussion afterward. Using the experience of movie watching allowed the group to quickly confront moral and ethical questions. Conversations focused on plot, character, and theme disarming group members then seamlessly led to our own beliefs.
Women Student Fellowship Board 2012 -2013
Learning Reflection
While serving as the Women's Student Fellowship chaplain I learned to trust God more by taking risks. I wanted to develop as a teacher by sharing less of my strengths and more of my struggles. In the fall semester of 2012 I took a class at DTS called Creativity. The teaching team and the content of the course stretched me despite having creativity as a strength. After a presentation in class I felt that I was letting my desire for excellence come at the price of being vulnerable. Later, I discussed with my professor how to improve. Professor Lawson returned the question to me to reflect and find my own answer. To discover the answer I lingered in prayer. The answer came in the form of a challenge. I was asked to be the speaker for the Women's Student Fellowship chapel. Initially, the idea was petrifying. Then I remembered my prayer. The Lord's answer was to nudge me out of my security blanket by giving me a task that apart from Him I could not do. In order to accept the opportunity I had to confront fear that rarely surfaced. Facing fear taught me a valuable lesson. To accomplish the work of ministry the Holy Spirit often calls us to take risks. I learned that as we trust the outworking of the Spirit He gives us courage, confidence, and calm.
Lifelong Development Statement
As a result of my varied experiences as a servant leader, I will pursue opportunities to grow and equip others. One area that I am intentionally focused on is addressing conflict. I am committed to practicing conflict resolution skills and encouraging others to follow the biblical model. Rather than avoid conflict I plan to share openly in hopes of resolving differences quickly. What I am learning is to apply grace, mercy, and love to any situation that may potentially cause disunity between people. We must love one another because we are sisters in Christ.
